Thanks to spotify I've been able to discover some of the more obscure Colourbox tracks in recent months (there's a self-deprecating joke in there somewhere), and their 1986 homage track 'Philip Glass' is my instrumental pick for today.
I know next to nothing about Mr. Glass despite the fact that his name is always bandied about those who love their music and who aren't shy in expressing that love verbosely in ten thousand word essays for the sunday supplements, but I do know that if his creative musical juices ever do dry up he's got a great back up career as a secondary actor in the next Tim Burton movie.
The track 'Philip Glass' was the b-side to Colourbox's final single, 'The Official Colourbox World Cup Theme' and, as an added bonus, 'davismccardle23', who was good enough to post the video below to YouTube, has tagged 'The Official Colourbox World Cup Theme' on after 'Philip Glass'.
Two great instrumentals for the price of one:
